Top 5 Books of 2015

And to wrap up this year nicely, here’s my top 5 favourite books I read in 2015!

  • NUMBER FIVE: SMART GIRL

25367257

This book turned out to be way more than I expected. It was a really important read for the time I was in….

  • NUMBER FOUR: THE ASSASSIN’S BLADE

18243700

The whole Throne of Glass Series is great but I loved loved reading about how Celaena Sardothien became the Celaena Sardothien we read about in Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight.

  • NUMBER THREE: MOCKINGJAY

This book changed my prespective of myself and others deeply. A must-read.

Top fives are hard given it’s a whole year! Lol! My bet is anyone else would find this list boring.

[5] Tubes – Andrew Blum. For me this is a must-read. You’re on the Internet. Do you know where it came from?

[4] Below Stairs – Margaret Powell. This book was an eye-opener! It made it possible for me to see why the Irish women in my fam are so independent and in charge.

[3] The Penguin Book of Vampire Stories – Two Centuries of Great Stories with a Bite – John Polidori, Bram Stoker, Lord Byron, and many more. The best single book I’ve ever read on the historical origins of the phenomenon of vampire fiction. THE best.

[2] Sindarin-English & English-Sindarin Dictionary – J-M Carpenter. I know it sounds boring, it’s not. Studying the language gives a real insight on the culture Tolkien designed. 🙂

[1] Color Harmony in your Paintings – Margaret Kessler. Ever see those Pros/Cons lists about being a woman artist that say ‘Relax, no one will ever mistake you for a genius’. This woman is a genius.

2016 I’m looking forward to: Pop Painting: Inspiration and Techniques from the Pop Surrealism Art Phenomenon by Camilla d’Errico! XD

The series definitely, because then you go to the Assassin’s Blade and it’s like all the pieces of the puzzle fit. But there are no spoilers in any of them so you can read them in wathever order you want 🙂
